My mother inspired me to cook because living away from home meant not being able to eat her wonderful cooking. Instead she used to call me on the phone and give me her recipes to cook them myself.

To inspired me to cook is the love that my mom make in cooking for her three unruly “children”, husband and my grandmother, who lived with us. Everyone has different tastes, who like meat well done to those who undercooked, who likes the short pasta to those who long, who wants a cake for breakfast with a cup of tea, those who eat biscuits and milky coffee. Mom always put so much love everything that makes, we felt cuddled, pampered from her recipes. And thanks to Mamma Lina I learned to cook, following her instructions by telephone, since I live away from home. Thank you Mum!ricettebarbare at gmail dot com

My grandmother, my mother gave me my first lessons. But the real love for cooking developed in me when I saw Jamie Oliver's shows. He was my inspiration.

My husband inspired me to cook. My mother is renound for being a terrible cook, for taking simple food and destorying it – and I accepted that that is what food tasted like. First time we went camping my husband cooked a steak on the bbq and it was so tender it just melted in the mouth. from that moment on I knew what good food tasted like and it inspired me to not cook like my mother but to make simple food taste great.

So many people have inspired me to cook. My Mom and Dad who are both great cooks. An Aunt who I cooked with many times growing up. Both my Grandmas, my sister, my son, my daughter, an Uncle, another Aunt, and my hubby.

Both my father and grandfather were professional chefs, and both inspired me to continue their love for cooking.Equally important, they taught me the sometimes it's better to do something you love, just because you love it, and not for a living.I cook for a lot of people, and enjoy every minute of it, but I'm not a professional.

Well… my blog is practically about my fiance who eats my food… so I'd guess he most inspires me! I've come a long way from the partying college student I once was, people see me now and don't understand how I've become so domesticated, but I just love good food… and I love making it even more!

i used to only be able to cook instant noodles and fry eggs. back home, my maid was the one who cooked all the meals. however, since i met my fiance, the domestic side of me came to surface. He is a professional chef in a modern asian restaurant in melbourne. Cooking for him is a scary process. He does after all, have a very sensitive palatte. My inspiration to cook is both him and my father. Him because he taught me to love & enjoy the process of cooking. As for my father, his love for healthy and yet delicious home cooked meals, inspired me to better my recipes for him to enjoy =)Indeed, cooking with love brings one – a long way. =)

I can't think of a definitive moment. I've always liked to cook, I think it simply comes from being in the kitchen with my parents and grandparents over the years.

I cook because when I was growing up that's just what you did. Going out was for special occasions. So my mom inspired me there by coming up with strange recipes. Some good. Some bad. Some great. I am now inspired to cook healthy thanks to my husband's family and mine. I have seen what being raised in a healthy household can do for the rest of your life. We want that for our son.Tia

My mother was an excellent cook, and sadly, I took it for granted. Now she is no longer with us, I feel the need to try some of her recipes out and try new stuff on my own.

My inspiration to cook was mainly through my Gran, who I never met. Her legacy of cooking was passed down to me from family stories about the wonderful meals she would create with little or no money and ingredients which she would grow herself. She managed to feed a family of 8 boys during the depression and WW2 (while her husband was away fighting in Germany).
