Pavilion Food Court

This is review #4 out of a 13-Part Food Blog Post Series from my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from the 4th – 9th August 2011 🙂

While I was in KL, I’ve spent a lot of my time shopping. My trip to KL was really mostly about eating and shopping anyway, and it was just so convenient that shopping malls were located in all directions within walking distance from my hotel. I spent a lot of time in Pavilion in particular, mostly because the shops were of higher quality and it was so huge I never got to finish the entire mall and I felt very comfortable in the clean and well air-conditioned mall. Some shopping malls annoy me because the air-conditioning doesn’t seem to be cold enough, and yes… I am hugely particular about air-conditioning especially since I get highly irritated when I’m hot and flustered.

So it only made sense that in between my shopping expeditions I would opt for a convenient place to sit down and have lunch or just take a break from all that walking…

“ABC Special” a Malaysian Shaved Ice Dessert

The Pavilion Food Court in the lower ground levels offered a huge range of choices when it comes to food. There you can find the usual fast food outlets as well as some decent restaurants featuring various types of cuisines as well as the smaller food stalls selling various types of food.

I was on a Nasi Lemak craze whilst I was in Malaysia, so I ordered Nasi Lemak Special from Mak Tom’s Nasi Lemak for lunch one day. It was one of the best Nasi Lemaks I have ever had! I was quite surprised considering meals from food courts aren’t always that great. I wasn’t even that hungry at the time of ordering this Nasi Lemak, but I finished the whole plate anyway because it was that good, hehe.

My parents shared a bowl of “Yong Tau Fu” and that was enough to fill them up. Geez I felt like a pig next to them… definitely ate too much whilst I was in KL.

That was a short and sweet post mostly to fill up the food gaps during the day and choice of location has been mostly due to convenience. Wait for my next post – dinner is always a more serious food affair 🙂

  1. Everytime I see Pavillion, I think of the beautiful colonial school that once stood there for over 100 years. Such a pity that commercialism won over history 😦
