Chinese Styled Steamed Fish Recipe

First and foremost, a very Happy Chinese New Year to all my lovely readers who are celebrating this wonderful festive season. I have just gotten back from my 1-month trip back to my hometown in Sarawak, Malaysia and it was my first Chinese New Year back in Malaysia in 8 years. It was great to be part of the crazy festivities again. Lots and lots of fireworks, very noisy, plenty of great food, catching up with all the family members and friends I have not seen in a long time, also got plenty of sleep while I was there, thanks … Continue reading Chinese Styled Steamed Fish Recipe

We are in Malaysia!

Well, technically we have been in Malaysia for a week and a half now so this is again a long overdue blog post. Can’t blame me, I’ve been too busy relaxing and having fun and eating to be bothered to sit down and blog! But tonight, since my dad has kidnapped my husband for some father and son in law bonding time, and Micah is fast asleep, I figured best use this time to write as much as I can before I get all lazy again, hehe. Yes, we made it to Malaysia. We barely survived the trip here, it … Continue reading We are in Malaysia!

Kimba’s Kitchen is On Holidays

My lovely readers, I must apologise for my blog going on a complete hiatus. At first, it was just because I got too busy during the December birthdays, Christmas and New Year holidays plus I felt a little bit lazy so decided I just needed a break from blogging. Now, I am writing this post from my hometown Kuching in Sarawak in Borneo in Malaysia! Yes, I am currently away on holidays here in Malaysia for a whole MONTH. Won’t be back in Melbourne until the 15th of Feb. Celebrating Chinese New Year in my hometown for the first time … Continue reading Kimba’s Kitchen is On Holidays

Post Christmas and New Year: Long Overdue Blog Post

Micah loves having a splash of mist on a hot day It has been WEEKS since I’ve last blogged! I guess the pressure was off once I’ve completed all 52 weeks of Micah’s first year. Now, I have SO MUCH to share and I’ve just been so busy or too lazy to blog all about it! The past few weeks have been quite exciting, and the next few weeks will be even more exciting… but I will get to that later, hehe. Let’s start with our trip to the Melbourne Zoo for hubby’s work Christmas party. It was a great … Continue reading Post Christmas and New Year: Long Overdue Blog Post

Eighty One Fine Food & Wine, Berwick

Photo Credit: http://www.eightyone.com.au A couple of nights ago, to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary, hubby and I went to Eighty One in Berwick for a lovely dinner just the two of us. Don’t get me wrong, I love going out to eat as a family with our little 1 year old boy Micah, but it is a completely different experience altogether with a child. This was a special night, I was going out on a hot date with my husband and it was our wedding anniversary, so no children please! One of the entrees we had was the House Cured … Continue reading Eighty One Fine Food & Wine, Berwick

Micah’s 1st Birthday Celebrations

We’ve just had such a massive weekend.. and you know what? It’s not even over yet, lol! We had Micah’s official birthday party on Saturday, had family and godparents and just a few close friends over for a BBQ lunch. It all went really well, although it was a little bit chaotic. I cannot imagine what it would’ve been like if we invited EVERYBODY to the party! Took so many photos of Micah’s birthday party so I will post most of them and let the photos do the talking…  Then on Sunday it was our 5-Year Wedding Anniversary, so we … Continue reading Micah’s 1st Birthday Celebrations

Week 52: Birthday Weekend!!

Okay it is only Tuesday and Micah’s actual birthday and party day is not until Saturday, but I have been so excited I have gotten most things all ready to go for the party done already! Basically the only thing that’s left to organise is the food and blowing up the balloons, which I can’t start until Friday anyway. I’ve pushed our pool table all the way to the side so it can be the food table. The weather forecast is predicting a stinking hot 38 degrees day on Saturday, so I figured I should at least prepare the house … Continue reading Week 52: Birthday Weekend!!

Week 51: The Great Outdoors and Busy Times Ahead

We have been spending a lot of time outdoors as a family, especially lately with the warmer weather and daylight savings. It is great. It feels like we have more time together during the day. Yes, the “winding down” time at night after Micah goes to bed seems shorter, many times like right now, I look at the clock and can’t believe it is 10.30pm already when I should really be in bed by 10pm, but it is great to be able to spend more time together as a family as Micah doesn’t need to go to bed until 8pm … Continue reading Week 51: The Great Outdoors and Busy Times Ahead
